Do you have a talented junior chef in your family? First Lady Michelle Obama, the USDA, the U.S. Department of Education and Epicurious are looking for talented young chefs between the ages of 8 and 12 to submit an original lunch recipe inspired by the USDA’s MyPlate. Winning chefs may have the opportunity to represent their state of the Kid’s State Dinner hosted by Mrs. Obama at the White House.
Recipes will be judged on:
- Nutritional value of the recipe
- Taste
- Creativity and originality
- Affordability
- Story behind the recipe
